What to Check Before Hiring a Starlink Installer
Before selecting one of these Starlink installation service providers in Nairobi, customers should establish exactly what is included in the quotation. Installation prices can vary according to the mounting position, roof height, cable length, access requirements, networking needs, and whether additional mounting hardware is required.
Ask the installer whether the quotation includes:
- Site survey or obstruction assessment
- Starlink dish mounting
- Mounting brackets or poles
- Cable routing
- Drilling and weatherproofing
- Router setup
- Wi-Fi optimization
- Speed and connectivity testing
- Electrical protection
- Additional network points
- Post-installation support
- Relocation or maintenance services
A good installer should also explain where the dish will be positioned and why. Starlink performance can be affected by obstructions such as buildings, trees, walls, and other structures. Professional installation therefore involves more than simply placing the dish on a roof.
For homes, the installer should consider where the router will provide useful Wi-Fi coverage. For offices, schools, hotels, and larger premises, the Starlink connection may need to be integrated with access points, switches, mesh systems, or structured cabling.
When comparing Starlink installation service providers in Nairobi, customers should also verify whether the company is an independent installer, reseller, equipment supplier, or another type of service provider. This distinction can help clarify responsibility for the Starlink account, equipment warranty, subscription, installation workmanship, and technical support.
Finally, customers should request a written quotation before work begins. The quotation should identify the installation scope, materials, labour, additional charges, payment terms, and any exclusions. This helps prevent misunderstandings and makes it easier to compare different providers on a like-for-like basis.
